PRE-SESSION ACTIVITIES:

Meet with CEO and key members of leadership team to understand the CU / CB needs and jointly
define the purpose and scope of the session.
- Create ground rules.

- Virtual meeting with all participants.
- Design an agenda (for CU/CB approval).

AT THE PLANNING MEETING:

- Help the group to find clarity and consensus through active listening, the use of open and closed questions, paraphrasing & summarizing participants’ comments.

POST PLANNING MEETING:
- Assist the CU / CB to prepare financial forecasts for the plan.
- Quarterly meetings with key stakeholders to review results and agree on next steps.

Gerri Sexsion
Gerri Sexsion is a Strategy Consultant for Prism Consulting Services, Inc. She focuses on helping organizations to realize their vision through effective planning. A “big picture” person, Gerri helps management teams uncover opportunities and develop creative solutions for challenges.
During her 40 years in the credit union industry, she led credit unions through turbulent economic cycles. As a former President and CEO of a $450 Million credit union, she managed the day-to-day operations of a full-service financial institution for over 22 years. Under her leadership, the credit union successfully navigated the rough waters of the Great Recession, expanded its branch network and product offerings, and thrived in a highly competitive market. Gerri also held C-Suite positions in credit unions in Texas and Oklahoma as well as serving as Executive Vice President for Due Supported Services at the Texas Credit Union League, now the Cornerstone League.
She was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of the Women of Influence in 2017 and has received national recognition for excellence in financial institution operations.
Gerri holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Finance and Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is a certified member service trainer and has extensive training in strategic and tactical planning, financial analysis, project management, process improvement, and Lean Six Sigma. Since retiring from credit union in 2019, Gerri continues to model credit union philosophy of “people helping people” as an Algebra and Geometry tutor at a local high school, and as chair of the Finance Council at her church.
